Tricks of the Trade: Tools for Rapid Site Analysis

Join in for a dynamic presentation and roundtable discussion on new tools, applications, and strategies emerging to streamline onsite and offsite analysis. Demonstration will include how to integrate these new tools into the design process.


“Get a Grip on Estimating and Proposals” 

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Charles Vander Kooi. Charles has been an advocate for the green industry for over 35 years. Many have used his bidding, estimating and related topics. The funeral and burial will be private with a memorial service planned for April. When we have more information we will make that available to members. Due to this our APLD Colorado April event “Get a grip on estimating” will be cancelled.

Ray Daugherty, horticultural instructor at FRCC, will give a presentation on underutilized trees and shrubs for the Front Range, and also give a tour of the new greenhouse on the FRCC campus. An avid plantsman, Ray has defined much of Colorado’s modern approach to planting design. He brings a wealth of plant knowledge to his talks for you to take your planting designs to the next level.


Certification Workshop

An open forum presentation to learn about steps to becoming certified. You’ll learn about the review process, benefits, point system, and the required items needed to submit your projects for certification. Bring a copy of your landscape design plan, site photos or other information to get feedback for a successful submittal.


Garden Tour with Kelly Grummons

Come see what winter has to offer in the gardens of Kelly Grummons, horticulturalist extraordinaire and former co-owner of Timberline Gardens. Kelly will lead us on a personal tour of his gardens including his extensive collection of yucca, agave, and manzanita. We’ll also see what he propagates in his greenhouse this time of year. And we’ll get an inside perspective on his Dog Tuff TM grass he has created.
